BIOEMTECH was responsible for the organization of the 3rd PSMR Conference on PET/MR and SPECT/MR.The PSMR14 Conference took place between May 19 and May 21, 2014 at Kos Island, Greece. More than 180 scientists from 28 countries were present in Kos Island and including accompanying persons the total number of registrations exceeded 210. The conference started with an invited lecture on MR spectroscopy by Prof. Andrew Maudsley. The conference included 12 sessions, with 55 oral and 55 poster presentations. The sessions were devoted to:

PET/MR Instrumentation
SPECT/MR Instrumentation
PET/MR Software and Quantification
Bimodal Tracers
Preclinical Applications
Dedicated Organ Imaging
Whole Body Applications

A special pitching session was organized, where 15 Early Stage Researchers presented for 2 min themselves and their project to the conference participants.
The conference was under the Technical Sponshorship of IEEE and ESMI, while COST Office and 10 industrial partners supported it. The exhibition included booths from IEEE, Philips, Bruker, SensL, Raytest, RS2D and Weeroc. The industrial session included presentations from Bruker, Siemens, Philips and SensL, as well as a review of funding opportunities in terms of Horizon 2020.
The best oral and poster presentation, as well as the best pitching were awarded. The prizes were:

1st Oral presentation: 400€, PSRM15 free registration: PET/MR Synchronization by Detection of Switching Gradients, B. Weissler, P. Gebhardt, C. W. Lerche, G. Soultanidis, J. Wehner, D. Heberling, V. Schulz
2nd Oral presentation: PSMR15/ESMI Conference free registration: GPU-accelerated Monte Carlo Based Scatter Correction in Brain PET/MR, M. Gaens, J. Bert, U. Pietrzyk, A Autret, N. Jon Shah, D. Visvikis.
1st Poster presentation: 400€, PSRM15 free registration: Characterization of Linearly Graded Position-Sensitive Silicon Photomultipliers, A. Ferri, F. Acerbi, A. Gola, G. Paternoster, C. Piemonte, Member, N. Zorzi.
2nd Poster presentation: PSMR15/ESMI Conference free registration: New imaging agents targeting chemokine receptor CXCR4 for PET/SPECT and MRI, S. Poty, P. Désogère, K. Nicholson, S. Nigam, C. Goze, F. Boschetti, S. Archibald, H. Maëcke, F. Denat.
The award for the best pitching session (200€) was given to: Yannik Berker, RWTH Aachen University, Department of Physics of Molecular Imaging Systems, Institute for Experimental Molecular Imaging and was an offer of BIOEMTECH.

The conference ended with a guided tour in Asklipeio and Kos town. All conference abstracts (300words version) are published in the open access Journal European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Physics. Full articles will be submitted in the IEEE TNS and following a peer review procedure, will be published in a special issue devoted to PSMR14.
