The international FELASA 2025 Congress of the FEDERATION OF EUROPEAN LABORATORY ANIMAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATIONS is taking place in our home city of Athens this week. This landmark event brings together the global laboratory animal science community, where ethics, innovation and collaboration converge to shape the future of responsible research.
At the heart of the Congress lies the 3Rs principle – Replacement, Reduction and Refinement – a framework that guides every step of modern biomedical research involving animals.
We are excited to have two of our colleagues actively contributing to this important meeting:
Argyro Zacharioudaki, our designated veterinarian, is part of the FELASA2025 Congress Organizing Committee and the Local Organizing Association Hellenic Society of Biomedical and Laboratory Animal Science (HSBLAS). Her involvement highlights the fact that animal welfare is not just a regulatory requirement, but a professional and ethical commitment.
Maria Kitsara, presented a poster titled “IMPROVE Animal Research”, representing the COST Action IMPROVE – 3Rs concepts to improve the quality of biomedical science (CA21139) – a European initiative striving to elevate the standards and reproducibility of animal research across borders.
At BIOEMTECH, we believe that technology is a key enabler of the 3Rs:
1️⃣ Our imaging systems allow for non-invasive studies, reducing the number of animals required.
2️⃣ Our CRO services are designed to refine procedures and minimize discomfort.
We continuously support efforts to replace unnecessary animal use with smarter experimental design and advanced imaging analytics.
Proud of our team, proud of our mission!
