Description:
The workshop presents theoretical and practical aspects of preclinical models’ development, imaging and theragnostic assessment, under a GLP environment. It provides a general overview of licensing and operating an imaging facility for rodent models, as well as specific details for selecting and applying imaging modalities for various models. Each year, different animal models are selected and thoroughly presented and discussed. This year the following models will be presented: (1) Crohn’s disease (gut fibrosis) & (2) Breast cancer: 4T1 & MDA-MB-231 models.
The practical part offers training in mouse handling for imaging experiments (using inanimate models) and operating imaging equipment. Places for practical training are limited and reserved on a first-come first-served basis.
This year, the agenda will be enriched with additional sessions on Leadership (team building and leading), and mountain hiking, to complement the scientific core of the workshop.
To see comments from past participants and last year’s speakers, visit the 2nd workshop website.
Theory fees include virtual attendance, access to course materials and dinner night for participants located in Attica at the time. Practice fees include attendance of the practical session, access to additional course materials and light lunch.
At the end of the registration period participants will be notified if they have secured a place for the practical training session and if they are selected for the scholarship, and billing instructions will be forwarded.
*Scholarships: COMULIS announces 10 scholarships, 5 for theory only and 5 for theory & practice attendance option. Scholarships will cover attendance fee or attendance fee and travel expenses respectively. To apply please submit a 200-300-word motivation letter stating your reasons to participate and the expected benefits of your related scientific work during the application process.
